Sam Andrews (guitarist, Big Brother And The Holding Company) : We got Piece Of My Heart from Jack Casady (of Jefferson Airplane). Jack had heard Irma Franklin's rendition, and he brought it to the band. We did it completely different from Irma's version. She did it with such delicacy. We did a white kid's frantic and manic version of it.
