Fact #165904

When:

Short story:

Pink Floyd play at Espace Richter, Montpellier, France, Europe.

Full article:

Paul Hardcastle (producer/performer) : I was on holiday in France, staying in a little hotel in Nice with my family, when I looked along the bar one morning and I saw this face that I thought I recognised. I've been a lifelong Pink Floyd fan, so it quickly dawned on me that the man I was looking at was David Gilmour. He kind of nodded at me, and we started talking. He said, 'Didn't I hear a Pink Floyd sample in one of your records?' I had to admit he was right, because I'd used the cash register from money in one of my tracks.

Anyway, we kept chatting and he invited me to the show that night in Montpellier, which was about twenty minutes from Nice. Absolutely brilliant show, mind-boggling. I quickly abandoned my plans for going out to dinner with my wife, and we were all taken along to the show, and went backstage with them to the aftershow party. They were great, and we came back to the hotel with them in their tour bus as well.
