Kathleen Perks (Wyman’s mother) : The first I knew of it was when he phoned me after the ceremony and invited me to a celebration lunch. I’m very disappointed they didn’t invite me. I suppose it’s typical of Bill. He’s always been a bit of a rebel.
Bill Wyman : We fooled everyone. We’ve got the blessing on Monday and we let everyone think that was the actual wedding. We did it to confuse people so that we wouldn’t be beseiged by photographers… It was all over in fifteen minutes. If I’d known it was that easy, I’d have done it years ago.
