Fact #162510

When:

Short story:

A riot ensues during Black Sabbath's Heaven And Hell tour, when they play at Mecca Arena, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. A projectile, thrown from the audience, knocks bassist Geezer Butler unconscious, and he is taken to hospital. When the concert is stopped, fans riot destroying windows, doors and furniture inside the venue, doing $10,000 worth of damage. After the venue is cleared by police, fighting continues outside and up to two blocks away. It takes police over an hour to clear the area. According to an October 1980 article in Billboard magazine, "Every available officer in the city was called out" and "two policemen and dozens of concertgoers were injured".
