Paul Jones, formerly of Manfred Mann, releases a solo single, And The Sun Will Shine, in the UK, Europe. Written by The Bee Gees, it is produced by Peter Asher of Peter And Gordon, and features Paul McCartney of The Beatles on drums and Jeff Beck on guitar.

Peter Asher : When Paul McCartney first asked me about Apple it was to see if I would be interested in producing some records for the label. He knew I'd done some producing. In fact, when I'd done And The Sun Will Shine, written by The Bee Gees, as the first solo record by Paul Jones of The Manfreds, Paul played on it. The whole band on that was Nicky Hopkins on piano, Paul Samwell Smith on bass, Jeff Beck on guitar, and Paul playing drums. We joked about it being the celebrity backing band. A little later, Paul asked if I'd like to become Head of A + R.
