Lynval Golding : I’m not a fighter. I was in this club in Coventry and I got jumped from behind. I don’t remember anything about it, I never even saw the guy. All I remember is being in the club, then waking up in hospital at about 5am, and not knowing where I was, and hearing these doctors and nurses saying, “He’s still bleeding,” and “We can’t stop the bleeding.” I had no idea what was going on, or why I was there.
I learned later that the guys who jumped me had been in a fight with someone else, and they just came into the club and attacked the first black guy they saw, which happened to be me. They stabbed me in the neck.
