Ellie Goulding : Some of the songs were written a long while ago and some are new. They represent what I've been through in the past few years - a lot of sadness and heartache. It's time to package it up so nothing slips through.
My songs are poppy and quite easy to listen to. There are a lot of different layers. There is a lot of dance music and electronica around, but I do it differently because I always keep a guitar in it.
I come up with ideas on the guitar, then I go and see my producer Fin (aka Starsmith) and we make a track for it and add sounds that we like. It works because it's not a big impersonal studio set-up. There are just two if us working in his bedroom studio.
