Fact #156393

When:

Short story:

Roy Orbison plays at The Mean Fiddler, London, England, UK, Europe.

Full article:

Peter Stark (editor, Songlink) : Roy signed to Virgin and re-recorded all his hits for In Dreams : The Greatest Hits in July 1987, as far as I remember. Amazingly, the album only reached No. 86, while a Telstar compilation a year later went to No. 1. He played this one-off gig to launch the album at the old Mean Fiddler in Harlesden, which in retrospect seems bizarre, but was definitely a revival-type event and a totally fantastic night. The place was packed, and Roy and his band were on top form, playing everything note-for-note to the originals. Really does seem like a dream now.
