John Lennon : We were both a bit embarrassed when we peeled off for the picture - so I took it myself with a delayed-action shutter. The picture was to prove that we are not a couple of demented freaks, that we are not deformed in any way and that our minds are healthy. If we can make society accept these kinds of things without offence, without sniggering, then we shall be achieving our purpose. There has got to be law and order, but that doesn't mean we should suffer bad, out of date, laws. If laws weren't changed they would still be jumping on queers and putting them away. So there is a case for us all to put society right - and that is basically why there is unrest all over the world; because revolution must come.
