Fact #148521

When:

Short story:

John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr of The Beatles confront Paul McCartney in Olympic Sound Studios, London, England, UK, Europe, trying to make him sign a new agreement giving entrepreneur Allen Klein of ABKCO 20% of all Beatles earnings. He refuses.

Full article:

Paul McCartney : I said, 'He'll take 15 %' … but for some reason the three of them were so keen to go with him that they really bullied me and ganged up on me. It sounds a bit wimpy but, anyway, they outvoted me on these issues.

Allen Klein : Some people would do it for five, and some would do it for nothing.
But nor me.  You get what you pay for, and vice versa.  Remember, no-one has to
sign with me if they don't want to.  I'm not a doctor with all the penicillin
when there's an epidemic.
