Steve Miller : I thought most of the San Francisco bands were awful. I mean, the Grateful Dead played In The Midnight Hour and then they’d stand around for ten minutes and tune. I’d come from Chicago, where everything had to be really tight and really good. So, I had this really good little blues band. And we started off as a blues band and eventually, by 1967, I got a contract with Capitol.
