Zelma Redding (wife of Otis Redding) : I remember the day he cut Satisfaction especially well. That was before the re-modelled Stax and they had the record shop out front of the studio. He came out of the studio for a break, heard them playing this song - then he learned the words, went back into the studio and cut it.
We were up in Detroit playing Phelps Lounge when the record came out and I remember Marvin Gaye coming by and telling Otis how much he liked it because he did so much to it. To me, it's the same as Aretha did for Respect.
