It is announced that a newly-discovered species of water mite has been named Litarachna lopezae in honour of singer Jennifer Lopez. The singer has Puerto Rican ancestry, and the water mite was discovered in a coral reef in Mona Passage, near Puerto Rico. Also, the biologists were listening to music by Lopez while writing about their discovery.
