Geoff Ellis (promoter, DF Concerts, Glasgow, Scotland) : AC/DC tour so rarely that this time there was a massive pent-up demand to see them and we sold out very quickly, just over 50,000 tickets. We didn’t really even have to advertise them, we just put them out there and let the fans know.

The venue had to be Hampden. They’d probably have crucified me if I’d put them in Edinburgh, because Angus and Malcolm were born in Cranhill in Glasgow. People here think of them as a Scottish band rather than an Australian one.

I think they were better this time than on the previous tour. The sound was great and they seemed to really be enjoying themselves, very relaxed, and the comments coming back from their production people confirmed that. The load-in went well and it was one of those shows where the energy level was really high and the crowd, as is typical of Glasgow audiences, was very responsive. To them, it’s a Glasgow band playing for their home audience.

Also they seem to have crossed the generation gaps, and you see people bringing their children to the show.

I thought this would probably be their last tour, but I’m hearing word that they might be coming back out again next year, so I’d love to have them here again.
