Canadian-born composer, conductor, musical arranger and trumpet player Robert Farnon dies aged 87 at a hospice near his home in Guernsey, UK. As well as composing original works (often in the light music genre, but also for film and television), Farnon was recognised as one of the finest arrangers of his generation, in which capacity he worked with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and many others.
