Bobby Elliott (drummer, The Hollies) : This was a five day engagement, where we were on the same bill as The Exciters, Shirley Ellis, the Hullabaloos and Little Richard. You did five shows a day, sang two numbers each time, then usually went out for a walk around New York between shows. Little Richard, however, didn't seem to think he should just do a couple of songs. They couldn't get him off the stage, despite many, many warnings.
Pat Hartley (model/actress, friend of Jimmy Hendrix [Jimi Hendrix] : The curtain opens and there's a huge gold throne and lots of red carpet and out come two belly dancers who couldn't belly dance their way out of anywhere, in amazing costumes. These four guys come out and one of them was Jimmy and he was really gorgeous with his long hair and played electric guitar in between the 'bellies'
