Fact #121483
When:
Short story:
Nancy Lewis of Fabulous magazine interviews The Who during a gig at Goldhawk Road Social Club, Shepherd's Bush, London, UK.
Full article:
Nancy Lewis : Being very low on the staff of Fabulous, I didn't get to interview The Rolling Stones or The Beatles. I had to go out for the one-hit-wonders, so they sent me to interview The Who. I had heard that Townshend was supposed to be strange but not much had been written about them so I didn't know enough to be scared.
Chris Stamp sorta came up and said, 'Hi, I'm Kit's partner.' He was very boring and talked about this film he had just finished doing in Norway with Kirk Douglas. I just wanted to go home. Then the group came off and I did a very stimulating interview with them, asking, 'What are your likes and dislikes?' They were very nice and very young and did the interview totally straight.
