Jeff Beck : I didn't like them [The Yardbirds] when I first met them. They didn't say, 'Hi,' or anything. They were pissed off that Eric [Eric Clapton] had left, they thought that the whole YBs sound was gone. They said, 'Can you play the blues?' I said, 'Slow blues, Chicago blues?' They said, 'Anything.' So I honked around. They said to get rid of that echo ... you don't use an echo in Chicago blues. Yeah. That's just what they said.
