Johnny Black (press officer, CBS Records) : Although I care not one whit for Tammy Wynette's music, in person she proved to be a lovely woman, and I remember that she stayed at the backstage door until she'd signed every single fan autograph, even though she seemed rather frail and unwell. Her manager/husband, however, I did not take to at all. I remember him sitting up in the backstage bar while Tammy was working, and he was graphically describing to all and sundry what he'd like to do with Bianca Jagger if ever he had the chance. Unpleasant character.
