Keith Altham : Just after I’d left the NME and I was freelancing as a writer, I interviewed Ozzy for Record Mirror down in the Brighton Dome. He was always very engaging and pleasant to talk to, not nearly as terrifying as the image suggested.
Backstage, in the dressing room after the concert, Geezer Butler had just come off stage in a white chamois leather suit with a zip down the front that was dripping with sweat, and he opened up a suitcase in which he had another identical suit and he put it on. Ozzy saw me watching this and said, ‘E loiks to be recognoized when ‘e leaves the stage door.’ He just didn’t want to be torn apart in a sweat-sodden suit.
