Larry Kane (journalist) : We were in this hotel, it was made completely out of glass. As the fans got more and more excited at the thought of the group coming out of their rooms there was a huge surge forward and two girls went straight through the windows in front of them. It was awful. There was blood everywhere. The girls were rushed off to hospital. I had to relate the news to the guys. They were devastated, physically shocked.

Lillian Walker Moss (The Exciters) : We went shopping and, when we returned, they wouldn't allow us to enter by the front door of the five-star hotel where we were staying. Even after we told them that we were on the bill with The Beatles and we had rooms there, they told us that we had to take the freight elevator to our rooms. That's where we met Pearl Bailey. As famous as she was, she still wasn't good enough to walk through the front door like every other guest at the hotel.

The fans were wack. They drove us all crazy. In Texas the weight of their bodies crushed the top and hood of The Beatles limousine and a kid got crushed when they all tried to enter The Doors at the same time.
