This is the latest incarnation of Gavin J.D. Munro, a prolific, capable songsmith whose thirty year career has taken him through combos including Rain Dogs, Neverglades, Wolftrain, Red Bus and most recently, Southpaw. As ever, it's rootsy Americana (via Perth in Scotland) and the eight-piece band delivers a convincing approximation of the sounds you might hear in a smoky Texas bar, via some sturdy murder ballads, boozy ruminations and tales of duplicitous women.
