George Martin (producer) : There's a sustained note in Any Time At All which is a piano playing with a bass guitar. That note was what I used to call a wound-up piano. And I used to do it with George's guitar. You would slow down the track to half speed, play the piano right down to the bottom, then bring it back up to normal again, and that would sustain and make the note twice as long.

It also has John's favourite gimmick, the tape echo on the voice, like Elvis Presley on Heartbreak Hotel. It was tape feedback.
