David Fanshawe, a composer and pioneer of what later became known as world music, dies aged 68, following a stroke at his home near Ramsbury, Wiltshire, England, UK, Europe. His best-known work is African Sanctus, which mixes live field recordings made in Africa with composed choral and orchestral sections written by Fanshawe.
