Jazz clarinettist Johnny Dodds opens at the 9750 Club, 9750 South Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, USA. According to the weekly Magazine - Jazz Information, around this time, "Baby Dodds' band still sounds good out at the 9750 Club. Johnny Dodds plays on Saturday nights only, as his health forbids more. His teeth have been fixed and he sounds as good as ever, sometimes even better. The band finishes at the 9750 on March 18th and there is no booking in sight. Manager of the 9750 says they just can't afford a band, which is very true. He is trying to get Baby booked elsewhere, but with no success as yet."
