Ghost Town by The Specials reaches No1 in the UK singles chart. The song's inspiration had come some months earlier, when The Specials played at The Apollo, Glasgow, Scotland. When Jerry Dammers of The Specials saw elderly women selling their possessions on the Glasgow streets, he was inspired to write the song. "It was unbelievable," he said later. "It was clear that something was very, very wrong."
