BBC Radio in the UK begins broadcasting a series of E.N.S.A. "Half Hours" which feature bands performing music which is divided into two types billed as "Moods In Music - straight and jazz". The programmes are not well received by jazz critics in music newspapers such as Melody Maker.Harry James And His Orchestra star in The Treasury Star Parade, episode No70, on radio in the USA. The series is sponsored by The US Treasury to raise funds for the war effort.
