The Regal Cinema opens in Edmonton, London, UK. The venue is also a variety theatre, and will stage many live music events. In 1972 it will be closed and re-vamped as a purely live music venue under the name The Sundown. Artists including Hawkwind, Doctor John, Steppenwolf and The Groundhogs will appear at The Sundown, but it will not prove profitable and will have closed by 1974, thereafter becoming a cinema again.
