When:

Short story:

On their Vapor Trails tour, Rush play at The Olympic Stadium, Porto Alegre, Brazil, South America.

Full article:

Neil Warnock (Agent, The Agency Group) : One of our greatest achievements between us and promoter Jose Muniz was getting Rush to play in South America in 2002. They're a very conservative band and I've represented them since the mid-70s, but for some reason they started to develop a huge following in South America without ever having gone there. They weren't selling a shitload of product but somehow their live reputation just kept on growing. Muniz rated them, along with Pink Floyd and U2, as among the Top 3 bands that could really clean up in South America. For six or seven years, Muniz was making offers to me, and I'd take them to Rush's management, and they'd get rejected because management simply didn't believe them.

In the end, in 2002, we set it up so they could take all of their production with them, so they felt very safe, and because the management and the band were very sceptical, all the money had to be paid upfront, and they played to 60,000 people in Rio, 40,000 in other parts, and it was a huge success.
