Larry Page (co-manager, The Kinks] : Arthur Howes (booking agent for The Kinks] phoned me over from Paris. He was putting The Beatles on at Olympia, and he phoned me and said "The Beatles played at The Olympia last night, they brought the house down." He said they'd played Long Tall Sally, so it would be a good idea to get The Kinks in the studio to record it as their debut single. And that's what we did.
