Wilton Gaynair is born in Kingston, Jamaica. He will find success as a jazz saxophonist and recording artist. He will begin his career playing in the clubs of Kingston, backing such notable visitors as George Shearing and Carmen McRae before moving to Germany, Europe, in 1955 because of the plentiful live work on offer.
