Fact #93080

When:

Short story:

Former San Francisco fireman and Vietnam Veteran Dan White is convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the shooting deaths of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk. The conviction will widely be seen as too lenient and White will become known as 'the most hated man in San Francisco's history'. I Fought The Law by The Dead Kennedys tells Dan White's story by re-writing the lyric of the original hit version of I Fought The Law by The Bobby Fuller Four. Another song inspired by White is Special Treatment For The Family Man by Tuxedomoon.
