Fact #90087

Short story:

A four day event, The Blues Bag, begins at the Cafe Au Go Go in New York City's Greenwich Village, featuring John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Otis Spann, Richie Havens, Fred Neil and The Blues Project.

Full article:

Al Kooper (organist, The Blues Project) : We had a regular gig at the Café Au Go Go in Greenwich Village supporting much more famous blues singers but we always blew them offstage, because we were such a high-energy band. So we just took off like a rocket and I gave up doing sessions to concentrate on the band full-time.
