Fact #89446

When:

Short story:

Elvis Presley plays in Fair Park Coliseum, Lubbock, Texas, USA, supported by Jimmy Rodgers Snow, plus Buddy And Bob, a duo comprising Buddy Holly and Bob Montgomery.

Full article:

Larry Welborn (bassist with Buddy And Bob) : Elvis came to Lubbock for (a fee of) $75. That was cheap to come from where he was out there. We would open a show for him at the Coliseum. He was at the Cotton Club once too. He came out with Bill Black and Scotty Moore, they were on stage and Bill saw me backstage and he said, “come on out,” so I played his bass guitar with Elvis for a couple of songs.
