Bob Taylor (Robertson-Taylor Insurance brokers) : We've been insuring Mark Knopfler's tours since the days of Dire Straits and over the years, we've had very few incidents or problems with them. Even when they do hit problems, they usually find a way of making the gig happen. I can't remember Mark ever missing a show.

There was an incident three or four years ago when he hurt his back, and the doctors couldn't pinpoint the problem, but he went onstage and did the show sitting on a stool. He doesn't let anything like that stop him. Of course, he was recompensed for his medical costs, but his action avoided the loss of the show.

They're a very well-organised team, they know their way around the world and, in my world that means the premium rate is relatively low, because insurers trust the team.
