Artemy Troitsky (Russian music journalist and author) : The first real Perestroika-type tour of Russia was UB40 in 1986. They played in big stadiums, in St, Petersburg, which was then Leningrad, and in Moscow. The UB40 tour really was a very big thing, because it was the first time that a major western act came to play to huge crowds in the Soviet Union.
