Full article:

Shirley Reeves [The Shirelles] : Burt Bacharach did all that. He wrote the song and he laid that track down and gave it to us. I didn't even know who the male voice was. Someone told me it was Burt himself but it doesn't sound like him to me. Luther Dixon is with us on the Baby It's You album cover, and everyone thought it was him, but it wasn't.

I had a crush on Burt Bacharach. He would be in the studio while we were recording and if he looked at me, I would shy back from the mike. He was so incredible. When he walked in the room, he always seemed to be in command, with the orchestra, with everyone. He did everything just right. You wanted to do well for him, to receive his praise. Dionne Warwick was on the same label and she also recorded the song. Dionne was a background singer working for Burt Bacharach. She would do demos for him and when Florence Greenberg (owner of Scepter Records] heard her demos, she signed her.

As well as The Beatles' version, there's one by Smith, who added a raunchy ending that was very good.
