Fact #82388

When:

Short story:

Lloyd's of London file a lawsuit in St. Louis County Circuit Court, St Louis, Missouri, USA, against Axl Rose and his band, Guns N' Roses. The suit arises out of a concert in Riverport Amphitheater, Maryland Heights, St. Louis, a year earlier which ended in a riot. Guns N' Roses then canceled upcoming concerts in Chicago and Kansas City, citing damage to equipment in the Riverport riot. When the band tried to collect on their insurance policy covering the costs of canceled performances, Lloyd's argued that they could have performed. The newly-filed lawsuit contends that Rose and other band members ''incited the crowd to riot against authorities and security and, in the midst of the performance, left the stage after urging the crowd to destroy the stage and equipment."
