Short story:

Full article:
Mike Rutherford : I must admit that the problem with The Living Years being a hit around the world is that it was a bit of a shock, in the sense that it had gotten to a level of success which I hadn't quite expected. I'm not saying... I think it's great, I'm not gonna knock success, but it did build up the pressure. In a way I wanted The Mechanics to - I felt comfortable at that stage of success which we had with our second album. It was different but it was sort of just enough.
BA Robertson : I don't know if it's important to him to make The Mechanics sell at stadium base, or sell ten million albums, but I think he wants the work to be credible. It's certainly well done, it's not hustled together.
Mike Rutherford : I often describe The Mechanics as a full-time part-time band. That's kinda how I see it. Looking back now, we've done four albums in ten years, which is quite incredible. And I see it that way that we... I think the success has helped. I mean I think if we'd been struggling to get through all in this sort of part time scenario in ten years, I think it would have been hard, we would have stopped. But I feel we're improving as players and musicians together and there's always something new I find out on each album.
