Easily the best Killers-alike album to date. Tellingly, their platinum single, Animal, didn’t take off until they played to their dream audience during a tour as support to, yes, The Killers. So, if you don’t mind their shameless cloning, this is a corking album. Vocalist and keyboardist Tyler Glenn exhibits almost every vocal mannerism of Brandon Flowers but he sounds convincingly committed and passionate. The band switches from chuggy rock grooves to overblown theatrics with the greatest of ease. Hard as I tried to dislike this, I now find myself singing the powerful, hooky 1983, and the pounding, anthemic Sins Of My Youth, time and again. Forgive me but Habits is, er, a killer.
