Harold Pendleton (owner, Marquee Club] : The Yardbirds' manager Giorgio Gomelsky and Eric were always sparking and, in the end, Giorgio decided to fire him. I got the job of actually giving him the bad news and I remember he said, "Can I keep my guitar?" I said, "Certainly not, it belongs to The Yardbirds."
Jeff Beck : I have been very lucky. I appreciate that. Eric Clapton left and Jimmy Page, who is a tremendous guitarist, suggested that I replace him.
