On the final night of the Glastonbury festival, Pilton, Somerset, England, UK, Europe, a female fan is crushed against the barriers in front of the stage, and The Cure's set is interrupted by a helicopter descending during Fascination Street to rescue the injured fan.

Robert Smith (The Cure) : Somebody came on stage and said we should tell everyone to move back because a helicopter needed to land. I thought, ‘Did I hear that right?’ It seemed such a weird message and then, sure enough, during Fascination Street this helicopter starts descending in front of us because someone had collapsed at the front. It was a very bizarre moment. It brought on very mixed emotions because we didn’t know if someone had died or what was happening. Then, afterwards, when we started playing again, it brought a strange kind of energy to the performance.
