Fact #41077

When:

Short story:

Bob Dylan is recording tracks for the soundtrack of the film Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid, in Burbank Studios, Burbank, Los Angeles, California, USA. Among the tracks recorded on this day is Rock Me Mama, a half-completed, largely mumbled country-flavoured ramble, which will not be released by Dylan. Nevertheless, in 2004 it will be re-titled Wagon Wheel, updated and amended with new lyrics by Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show, going on to achieve platinum sales. Then in 2013, Darius Rucker will release his version of Wagon Wheel, in the USA and it will top the Billboard Country Chart, achieving triple-platinum status.
