When:

Short story:

Full article:

Jef Hanlon (promoter) : I had a long and wonderful relationship with B.B. King. I put a week of sold-out gigs together with him at the Royal Festival Hall in 1981, after which he gave me a limited edition Gibson B.B.King Lucille guitar, serial No.02. He was backed by this great rhythm section, The Crusaders, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

B.B. would look across at Big Ben from the Green Room at the back of the hall and say, 'This is the greatest gig I've ever played.' Gibson had only just started doing these custom-made black Lucilles and he gave me one.
