Full article:

Ian 'Mac' Mclagan (Small Faces) : There's a lot of slimy guys in this business. It's a bad business. I wouldn't recommend anyone getting into it for anything more than fun. If you think you're gonna make money, think again! It's not about money. It's a business for everybody else. And if you're going to get into it for business, you're not going to make great music. I've been on some good records I think. And I think if I'd taken an accountancy course it would have been great. But I started at 17 or 18. What else can you do? It's set up for people to take advantage of you because you don't know any better. That's the way it is.

Some people are luckier than others. The Small Faces were definitely really unlucky, unfortunate to in one way have gotten in with people who stole totally, but were great managers in that they projected them and promoted them. The great news is that people still talk about The Small Facesin the year 2000. But the business, it sucks, really. Don Arden I still have no warm feelings about other than that he was a great manager. But he didn't manage our money for us. He took it away.
