Eric Stewart (guitar/vocals, 10cc) : I loved the early Presley stuff, the Sun records. There's a distortion that's really human and very, very nice and warm; like a good valve mic with a vocalist. It has this gorgeous edge on it which, if you stuck it through an oscilloscope, you'd say 'No, no, that looks bad. It's ripping at the edges.' However, it sounds really great to me, and I wanted that sound.
