Folk music's elder statesman Pete Seeger is acquitted, on appeal, of the guilty verdict for contempt of Congress found against him in April 1961. The guilty verdict was in relation to Seeger's testimony to the Committee on Un-American Activities of the House of Representatives in Washington DC, USA - popularly known as the McCarthyite Communist Witch Hunt.
