They were ordinary lads, dead cheeky. John was fascinating to talk to.
The Oasis started off as a jazz club. It was right at the beginning of the pop scene, and at clubs like ours you'd have anybody playing, and pay them peanuts, more or less.
The kids did not want to go to the big Ritz, they wanted something different. There was no liquor. We just had a coffee bar.
