Rosa Lee Brooks (singer) : Jimmy and I had met at the California Club in Los Angeles, California, USA. Neither of us were onstage. We were there watching the Ike And Tina Turner Revue.
I was sitting at the bar and I felt like something was tugging at me to make me look around. Eventually, I did and I found myself looking straight at Jimi and he was looking at me. He looked just the way he does on the Cry Of Love album cover. He stared at me so long and intense that it became embarrassing. I was attracted to him right away, but I turned away and then I got up to go to the ladies room.
He came over and put his hand on my arm and invited me to join him at his table. At the end of the night, we went back to his hotel together. We made love, and I mean extensively, all night long. The next morning, Jimmy was just real limp, and he picked up his guitar as soon as we woke.
