Full article:

Gary Brooker [The Paramounts/Procol Harum] : If I remember rightly, our manager booked us and The Rolling Stones, at a place down in Kent, in Deal. He ran a ballroom down there, and we were both playing there.

It was a bit of a funny night because there was a big fight outside and we had to all hide in the dressing room for quite some time. Some lads from the local army camp were causing a bit of an uproar, so a team was brought down from a snooker hall to sort them out.

We enjoyed each other's sets. They had previously just played at small clubs round the Windsor area before that, but now they were starting to move out, doing gigs further afield. So we got to know them and when they started doing tours we ended up on the bill with them quite a few times.
